KTRU Tuesdays: William Shatner in Houston

. . . a day late.

In the fall of 1975, William Shatner came to Houston. At the time, he starred in Barbary Coast. If you know why he was in Houston, please fill us in. After some online sleuthing, it’s not entirely clear.

In the clip, Shatner discusses the Star Trek movie and his TV show. There’s also a sound bite of a woman excited to meet Captain Kirk.

The image attached to the video comes from the Star Trek: The Motion Picture film review by Richard Dees in the January 17, 1980 Thresher. Dees was not a fan.
