Shovels used for the November 9, 1957 groundbreaking

We have a nice collection of shovels: one helped plant the Pershing Pecan tree, while the rest assisted in ceremonial groundbreakings. The two shovels above are two of the ten used during the Rice Memorial Center groundbreaking. Here’s a photograph of the shovels in action.
